Remembering the unique characteristics of 2011 is easily done with even more pronounced flavors that is the 2012.
The aromatics are loud, though very subltley complex. An inhale of cloves and spice? or is it evergreen and rosemary? or wait, there’s thyme goin on too?….and still the tell-tale aromas of ripe berries, cherry, oak and vanilla. All loud and clear, yet subtle and clean. It’s ok to want to keep your nose in the glass (I always say it can be half the enjoyment of the wine) for a good long time. It follows suit on the palate with a soft mouthfeel and nice balance of fruit, acidity, and mild tannin structure keeping it all intact, and finishing with a hint of raisin and dried plum on the exhale. Enjoy this nuance-filled easy drinking Zinfandel. Easily compatible with most everything on your family’s food table.
