Though genetics have Primitivo as the identical twin to Zinfandel, clonal differences give us nuances of Zin but just enough uniqueness to give her a personality of her own. Our 2014 Primitivo has a huge aromatic of clean ripe fruit of berries and plums. This all unfolds on the palate with the plum characteristic in very prominent amounts. Also very evident is the mouth feel. There is a certain viscosity that, when achieved, allows a quality wine to permeate our palates very softly, yet our taste buds are giving us at the same time this explosion of fruit and flavor. All together this creates a great experience, which of course will continue with another sip. This Primitivo finishes very, very lengthy with again those super ripe plums descending gracefully. Lots to enjoy Bottled April 26, 2016. 275 cases produced.
